If you’ve read the series, the good news is that you get to see these lovebirds onscreen which was a miss in the movie.

Plot:

The story revolves around the life of Clary Fray, a young teenage girl who after turning 18 finds out that she is a Shadow Hunter, i.e she is half angel. The long kept secret of her mother about her original identity is finally unveiled following a series of unfortunate events which includes the disappearance of her mother, Jocelyn. Clary soon finds herself in the company of Jace who saves her life and takes her to the Institute where he and his friends join her in her journey to find her mother.

Jace and Clary

It has some new hot surprises with the character displays.

The Episode 1, starts with Ruelle’s song Monster stuck in my head with a short clip of Jace and Clary’s first meet in Pandemonium.

This series is based on Cassandra Clare’s book series The Mortal Instruments (2007-2014), following five books:

Origin:

The mortal instruments was the first published novel of Judith Lewis, best known by her pen name Cassandra Clare. Her first trilogy contained City of Bones, City of ashes and City of Glass which was continued with a subsequent trilogy containing City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost souls and City of Heavenly fire. The series in inspired by the urban landscape of the city of Manhattan.

The entire series depends on the existence of Shadowhunters, inspired by the Biblical term Nephilim. In Bible, the term was used for the children of angles and humans who were damned in a certain way and we not at all good looking (rather they looks like giants.Lol.).

But, Clare’s version of Nephilim is more supernatural adonis guardians of the Earth who live hidden within the society to protect mundanes (humans) from other downworlers (supernatural creatures or demons). She webs a perfect fantasy world for the reader to be enamored with these Nephilims.

This Nephilim world fantasy is turned into a chronology which the other series which came after: The infernal devices (2010), The dark Artifices (2012) and The Bane Chronicles (2014).

A personal note:

I’ve always been a book person so my first introduction to this series was with the first book of the The Infernal devices, The Clockwork Angel. The book was a gift from my friend on my 16th birthday. The Infernal devices unlike The Mortal Instruments is set in the Victorian Era, London. The story involves two of my very favourite characters, Theresa Gray and Willam Herondale.

Tessa and Will are entangled in this beautiful love affair between two avid readers who interact with with eachother through the tongue of literature. Both Clare’s characters Clary and Tessa are of artistic interest. Clary is an artist where Tessa is a literary person. In all of her series my personal favourite is The Infernal devices but unfortunately they go no movie coming out soon on it. 😦
